As an entrepreneur, Datuk Henry’s businesses revolve around his two main passions: automobiles and building. With a successful corporate career that spans three decades, he now sits on the board of more than a dozen companies in Sabah, Peninsular Malaysia and overseas.
His interest in property development began over 3 decades ago when he designed and built his own house. He then cut his teeth on the real business of property development by establishing joint ventures with public listed companies in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to build a range of low to mid- and high-end properties.
His first foray into property development as Docomo Development Sdn Bhd was Putra Square, a commercial shoplot project in Putatan in 2002 which was completed well ahead of schedule and set the standard of professional delivery and customer satisfaction for future Docomo projects. To date, his property portfolio includes sold-out residential and commercial developments in Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Kuala Lumpur with a project pipeline spread across the west coast and interior of Sabah.
Datuk Henry’s aspiration is to build better homes and this drive propels and inspires him to be involved in Sabah’s dynamic urbanization programme. His foremost criteria are quality and versatility and his projects reflect his stand. His vision of building physical houses encompasses creating an ambience of joyful living.
The Rise of ‘Hing’ Empire
Angkatan Hebat Sdn. Bhd.
Responding to the unrelenting calls of the Sabah State government to revamp the Angkatan Hebat Group in 2005, Henry returned to the group and put in tireless efforts to turnaround its dismal performance.
Finally in 2010, he and his management team successfully achieved all the KPIs set in place, surpassing all initial projections.
AHSB Group of Companies
Today, Datuk Henry Hing is still a director of AHSB Group of Companies, a company with a paid up capital of RM9,000,000.00 and AHSB currently own a fleet of more than 1,000 vehicles.
Malaysia Small Medium Industry Association (SMI) Excellence Awards
In recognition to his remarkable leadership, Henry and his team in AHSB was awarded continuously from 2007 to 2010 by Malaysia Small Medium Industry Association (SMI) for their excellence in performance and stellar growth in the automobile market.
“Entrepreneur Excellence Award”
Among them was the honour of SME100 in 2009, being the highest accolade of the SME Best Overall Award by SMI Malaysia. Henry himself received an “Entrepreneur Excellence Award” in August 2013 spoke volume of his leadership quality and dedication.



Venturing Into Construction Industry
Henry took on the construction industry serendipitously during a leave of absence from his tenure at Angkatan Hebat in 2002, he was invited to take up a stake in Warisan Upaya Sdn. Bhd. to build the Putra Square shophouses in Putatan, Kota Kinabalu.
When this project was successfully completed ahead of time, it marked Henry’s firm foothold in the construction industry.
While making milestones in the automobile sector, Henry’s involvement in the building industry has not halted after his return to AHSB.
Sino Borneon Construction Sdn. Bhd.
His company, Sino Borneon Construction Sdn. Bhd. moved into upmarket property development in 2010 with the construction of 14 units of semi-detached houses and 2 units of bungalows at the Penampang Lintas area.
The project, named Putra Villa or better known as the House of Eight, is the first of its kind in Malaysia, where every houses feature the number “8”.
Docomo Development Sdn. Bhd.
Another company of his, Docomo Development Sdn. Bhd. launched a prestigious housing project in the strategically located Penampang area in March 2013, where 144 units of high-end contemporary designed landed residences and shop lots will be taking shape.

Combining Resources & Forming Strategic Partnership
1Sentul Condominium Project @ Peninsular Malaysia
In Kuala Lumpur, Henry has a stake in the 1Sentul Condominium project.
 Having been invited by fellow experienced and committed counterparts as a shareholder in Zalam Builders Sdn. Bhd., a company which name has been established in the industry for over 30 years, Henry’s considerable expertise in the industry successfully helped the team add a new landmark to the prime location of Sentul, Kuala Lumpur.

The project was completed in 2010 and the aggregate GDV of the 284 units condo exceeded the benchmark of RM90,000,000.00.
Buyout of Malaysia’s No.1 Metal Doors Manufacturer
It’s hard not to acknowledge another significant achievement of Henry when Peninsular Malaysia is mentioned. Several years ago, Henry led the management buyout (MBO) of Selangor-based Metaframe Sdn. Bhd., becoming its substantial shareholder.
The company has since become Malaysia’s no. 1 manufacturer of metal doors and door frames, fireproof doors and security doors. Among its impressive clientele were KLCC, KLIA and Istana Negara.
Henry then divested his shares to his long-time friends and partners, achieving his goal to help his friends in this MBO exercise and grow the company.

Datuk Henry is held in high esteem in the corporate world, not least because of his stewardship of the Angkatan Hebat Group and several other companies, but also because of his involvement in the business fraternity.

After experiencing a major corporate setback, Angkatan Hebat Sdn. Bhd. have successfully recovered – and surpassing all past performance records. AHSB achieved greater heights, and maintained at high standards, through performances based on KPI. The Phoenix Award is awarded to recognise such achievement and milestone.
